About the Position

Harris Health is seeking a Supplemental Surgical Technologist II to join the surgical services team at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

The Surgical Technologist II assists the surgical team during operative procedures while maintaining proper aseptic technique and supporting a safe, efficient surgical environment. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, sutures, and procedures to help ensure the operating room is prepared to meet the needs of patients and the surgical team.

This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and professional performance.

Requirements

  • Education

    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Graduation from an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists

  • Licensure and Certification

    • Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

    • Current CPR certification

  • Experience

    • One year of related experience preferred

  • Knowledge and Skills

    • Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment

    • Knowledge of surgical procedures and proper aseptic technique

    • Medical terminology

    • Word processing

    • Computer and/or key-entry experience

    • Strong verbal communication skills

    • Ability to prepare professional correspondence

    • Strong attention to detail and patient safety

  • Work Schedule
