About the Position
Harris Health System is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join the Correctional Health team at the 1200 Clinic for 12-hour day shifts. This role offers the opportunity to work in a challenging yet rewarding, mission-driven environment, delivering high-quality care to individuals housed in the Harris County Jail.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing intake health assessments, managing urgent and chronic care, and providing emergency stabilization when needed. You will collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining the ability to work independently.
This position may also provide flexibility and support across the broader provider team and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements
Education:
Bachelor of Science from an accredited Physician Assistant program (NCCPA)
Licensure/Certification:
Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
Licensed as a Physician Assistant
Experience:
No prior experience required
Clinical Skills:
Ability to perform suturing, splinting, and EKG interpretation
Strong clinical judgment and patient care skills
