About the Position
Harris Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse III (Nurse Clinician III) to join the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital for full-time night shifts.
In this advanced nursing role, you will provide high-level patient care while demonstrating clinical leadership, critical thinking, and specialized nursing expertise. The Nurse Clinician III independently manages complex patient cases, applies evidence-based clinical practices, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and effective patient care in a critical care environment.
This role also requires leadership experience and active participation in professional nursing development initiatives.

Requirements
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- BSN preferred
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or Red Cross approved program
- Specialty nursing certification required
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years RN experience
- Minimum of 1 year clinical leadership experience meeting at least 2 leadership criteria such as:
- Preceptor
- Charge Nurse
- Mentor
- Certification
- QI Champion
- CoP Chair
- Clinical Leadership:
- Demonstrated leadership in a professional nursing practice environment
- Portfolio/resume/performance review reflecting clinical leadership
- Communication Skills:
- Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
- Strong written communication
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Ability to accurately communicate clinical information in English
- Technical Skills:
- PC proficiency
- Knowledge/Skills:
