Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, helps prepare and distribute prescribed medication and other healthcare products to patients and customers. Responsibilities include reconstituting medications, compounding sterile preparations, managing inventory, delivering medications to patient care units, replenishing medications in automated dispensing cabinets, and participating in scheduled terminal cleanings.

Clerical duties include answering phones, filing invoices, stocking shelves, and data entry. Accuracy and precision are essential to ensure patient health and safety.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Registered by Texas State Board of Pharmacy & in good standing

  • IV Certification or MTM Certification

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician, including at least 1 year in a hospital or infusion pharmacy

Special Requirements

Communication Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal communication (e.g., public speaking)

  • Writing and composing correspondence/reports

Other Skills:

  • Mathematics, Medical Terminology, PC proficiency, Microsoft Office

Work Schedule:

  • Weekends, holidays, flexible, overtime, travel
