About the Position
Harris Health System is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (Infectious Diseases) to join the Correctional Health team. In this role, you will provide advanced clinical pharmacy services, ensuring optimal and cost-effective medication management for patients.
You will participate in multi-disciplinary rounds, deliver direct patient care, and support clinical initiatives. This role also includes educating pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare providers, as well as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy interns, technicians, and residents. The position requires a strong commitment to innovation, clinical excellence, and improving patient outcomes.

Requirements
- Education:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Licensure/Certification:
- Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- Must obtain Texas licensure within 90 days if new graduate or reciprocity applicant
- ACPE IV Sterile Certification required
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification required
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years clinical pharmacy experience
- OR completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 or PGY2 residency program
- Communication Skills:
- Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
- Strong written communication (reports)
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Word and computer applications
- Knowledge/Skills:
- Analytical and research skills
